Ignition switch Beetle 1971 and Type 2 1971 to 1974, also Karmann Ghia for 1971

This switch is located in the back of the sleeve which is mounted the front of the switch, and ensures that when the key is turned to the power is turned on and when by turning the starter motor is activated. 

For the removal there is a small screw on the side of the metal sleeve, after it has been removed, the switch can be pulled out.

To check if this the correct switch, the larger section of the centre slot in it's natural position is pointing at the tag with the locating hole for the securing screw. (As in the picture provided)

There is also two extra wires on this switch which are not needed and they can be cut off befor installation.
