Schadek 30mm Oil Pump, 8mm Pump Studs
This pump fits late Type 1/2/3s with 1500-1600cc based engines.
We feel 30mm pumps are over sized in most cases, a 26mm is more than big enough IF you follow our blueprinting instructions.
Too much pressure causes hot oil, by keeping the pressure relief valve open, bypassing the oil cooler.
Many new oil pumps are of inferior quality these days, obviously we carry the best available, which are genuine Schadek or Brosal.
Clearances are tight and they wear well.
We recommend 21 or 26mm for stock and mild engines with the T-1 based engine, and 30mm for T-1 and 3 race cars.
WARNING: a 30mm pump in a Type 1 or Type 3 engine can blow out your oil cooler or cooler seals with 30, 40, or 20-50 weight oil when cold if you don't modify the pressure relief system.
Many people are not aware that VW machines the oil pump bore (in the case), this results in a perfect or SLIGHT interference fit, which is why you need a puller to get it out (if you don't need a puller, you have an undersized pump).

These pump are best suited to oil systems that have large oil coolers and high stressed engines where oil flow and pressure are needed.
