Final Drive Seal (Gearbox)
IRS Beetle, Karmann Ghia, and Type 3.
This is the seal between the transmission case, and seals the shaft of the output shaft. These often leak, and the leak can mimic a CV Joint Boot failure.
If the axles are off, its a good time to replace these.
This 113 301 189A is only 9.5mm thick, which is thinner than the 15mm 113 301 189F (This seal is avalaible here)

Some folks can't get the output shaft flange circlip on with the 189F seal in place (too thick, it prevents the clip from going on), and in that case you'll need the 189A seals.
