1968 to 1979 Beetle and Super Beetle
1968 to 1974 Karmann Ghia
1968 to 1973 Type 3 Squareback, Fastback, Notchback
1968 to 1979 Kombi with upright Type 1 style engine
Porsche 914 1970 to 1975  1.7L/1.8L.

And VW's that have had a 12 Volt conversion including the correct 130 Tooth flywheel.
 
This starter is not the correct unit for automatics, this is available here
 
Will not fit late Kombi's 1976 and on that have the "091" gear box fitted, check here to see if that applies to your set up.

Note: If you are converting a 1967 and earlier VW to 12 volt you do not just change your starter to a 12 volt starter! 
You can only swap to a 12 volt starter motor if you have swapped out your flywheel to a "12 volt, 200mm flywheel" or if you have changed the engine in your original 6 volt car to a engine with a 12 volt flywheel.
If you are installing a 12 volt starter in a transmission from a 6 volt car you will need the conversion starter bushing.
