Electric Fuel Pump Relay (Safety Relay)
A fantastic safety idea for guys running electric fuel pumps on carbureted cars.
This relay will run the pump as long as it's getting a open and closing signal from the ignition. In case of an accident where you are unconscious or disoriented, if the engine stops the fuel pump will shut off.
In many cases this is not an issue, but if there is a fire the fuel pump will pump gasoline on the fire if you are NOT using this relay.
The second advantage to using this relay is that it takes the load off the power lead so the main power wire comes from the battery, not your ignition switch, and not rubbing current from the coil.
