These are often split or missing from the VW Strut Assembly due to age and repeated abuse, like bottoming out from weak strut springs.
A new stop should be added while you have the assembly apart.
These fit the 3 bolt (early) struts on 1971-73 1/2 VW Super Beetles.
Sold each and you need 2 of these do to both front struts.
